Internal web stats compared to AdvertServe Stats

Asked by: jferry 422 views User Questions

When our advertiser clients looks at their internal web stats for clicks we have deliver through our email newsletter using AdvertServe code, all those clicks seem to be dumped into a generic folder. Shouldn’t they see clicks coming from your IP address since the link is redirected through your server to count the clicks?

Thanks,

When processing clicks, the ad server forwards on the identifying information of the client instead of it’s own identity. This enables third parties to see client data. However, with e-mail some client data is not available like it is with a browser, so that’s why your advertiser isn’t seeing it in their reports.
