Pop up blocking

Asked by: StephenL 393 views User Questions

I’m getting feedback that some browsers have popup blocking set up automatically, and the Flash ads aren’t opening the advertiser websites when clicked.

How do I either set the ad to open in the same page, or bypass the pop-up problem.

I was told specifically this happened in Explorer, but I don’t have any more details than that.

This is due to recent changes in Internet Explorer in how it loads Flash. Do a Google search for “EOALAS Patent” or “Flash Activation” and you’ll find all of the details on it. In short, if you have Flash banners set to open in a new window, they will ocassionally be detected as a popup but not 100% of the time. It really did seem to happen randomly in our testing. We’ve been recomming to use _top instead of _blank to avoid this issue in our user manual for a while: http://www.advertpro.com/docs/1.0/html/manual/clicktrack.html#flash
