Action tracking

Asked by: StephenL 388 views User Questions

I looked in the manual, and didnt quite follow what to do here.

I have an advertiser that wants people to fill out a form when they get to his site, and we need to track if people followed through and filled out his form.

I can’t really change the code on all my Publishers (each one has individualized Publisher code).

Can I still set up some sort of action tracking here?

Does the Advertiser need to do anything special on his site? I may be able to have him add code to his site.

What you need to do is go to the code wizard and click on “Action Code” in the navigation menu on the left. Then click on the “HTML” link underneath that. Generate code for the advertiser and send that code to the advertiser. They need to place the code in the page that visitors are directed to after filling out the form, i.e. some type of “thank you” page. And that’s really all there is to it — that code will pick up on any form submissions you passed their way and credit them to the proper publisher (we use a cookie to link up the action to records of the original click in the database that contains that data).

    Thanks. That answers that question.

Could I recommend you put that in the manual verbatum, because your explanation was a lot clearer.
