Rotating ads by location on the same page

Asked by: USATourist 379 views User Questions

Hi,

I have a page that is pretty much just a bunch of ads. I’d like to be able to rotate these ads so that the same advertiser is not always at the top of the page. I need all of the advertisers to show each time the page is viewed.

So right now, with the ads being static, the ad content is viewed as:

Advertisement A
Advertisement B
Advertisement C

Is there a way to have these ads display so that one visitor sees the content as above. But the next visitor would see
Advertisement B
Advertisement C
Advertisement A

And the next would see something like
Advertisement C
Advertisement A
Advertsiement B

But I’d prefer that it never show
Advertisement A
Advertisement B
Advertisement A

I tried testing this with having each ad campaign assigned to the same zone. I placed the ad code for that zone on the page multiple times. However, the result is that it shows the same ad mulitple times on the page. When I refresh, it shows the 2nd ad multiple times. I do not have any delivery capping or other limits set for any of the campaigns.

Any suggestions on how I can accomplish this?

Thanks!

Are these ads all displayed side by side, stacked on top of eachother, or in a table/grid layout? If so, you should use the “Display Multiple Ads” option in the code wizard. That will give you a single code to display all of the ads, which lets the ad server cycle them around and it also prevents any ad from showing up in multiple positions at a time.
