Floating/Hovering Ads

Asked by: StephenL 407 views User Questions

I’ve seen “floating” or “hovering” ads on different commerical sites, and was wondering how that could be implemented with advertserve?

The type I’ve seen are embedded in the page, not a moving pop-up.

Any ideas?

I’d like to be able to offer simple code to my publishers.

I’m going to give myself a partial answer.

I found this commercial program: http://www.dpopup.com/ which seems to provide a solution. I’m checking it out further to see if it will work with my Publishers.

These types of ads can be run with the dynamic media type. It’s designed for free form creatives like this, which are possible to create with HTML/JavaScript (a.k.a. DHTML) and a few graphics or even Flash. You’ll either need a web/graphics designer to work with you and create a template creative or buy a program like the dpopup one you found.

I found a really simple (and free) solution to create floating ads on a webpage. I found it on this site: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum89/481.htm

    ——————–
    1) Add this code in the section

    2) In the section add this code:

    ——————-
    3) That’s it! You can change the code and variables to offset/position the ad differently or for different size ads. I had one of my publishers try it, and it works beautifully.
