Multiple Hot Spots

Asked by: StephenL 371 views User Questions

I have a client that wants to create a flash ad with multiple buttons (hotspots) on it. Each button would click through to a different location on his website.

Is there a way to do that and track the clicks (I already assume the links would have to be hard-coded into the Flash).

    The following ActionScript code would have to be used for each button in the SWF file:

    <span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>on (release) {<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>  if (clickTAG.substr(0,5) == "http:") {<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br />    </span>getURL(clickTAG + "http://www.domain.com/page1.html", "_top");<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br />  </span>}<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>}<span style="font-family: monospace;"><br /></span>

    So, yes, the link does need to be hard-coded in the SWF file as you suspected.

    Also, note that you will still need to put a URL in the ClickTAG URL field in AdvertPRO, but it will not be used for anything. It is only needed so the clickTAG parameter is actually generated.
