Advert Pro Redundancy

Asked by: Abraham 697 views Uncategorized

I’m currently running AdvertPro [Version 1.0 Build Number: 9234] and wanting to have it running redundantly on two machines. I’m going to be using an equalizer to load balance these two machines.

#1 is this possible with this version
#2 what should I know to set this up properly

Support for clustering will be available in the next version of AdvertPRO.

Is my build Classic or should I be in the other forum?

Also – I’m moving my AdvertPro system to another server, I looked at the information on migrating but I’m not sure if this applies to me as I’m not seeing the same structure. For my build what instructions should I use for moving an AdvertPro system, database, etc over to a different server?

No, you are in the wrong forum.

Also – I’m moving my AdvertPro system to another server, I looked at the information on migrating but I’m not sure if this applies to me as I’m not seeing the same structure. For my build what instructions should I use for moving an AdvertPro system, database, etc over to a different server?

    1) Download the current install package for AdvertPRO from here: https://services.renegadeinternet.com/download/

    2) Follow the instructions that are e-mailed to you to install it.

    3) Change the TTL (time to live) of the DNS for the domain AdvertPRO is running on to be very short, say 10 or 15 minutes, about 48 hours before proceeding to the next step.

    4) Export the AdvertPRO database on the old server with this command:

    mysqldump -u root --opt advertpro | gzip > datadump.sql.gz

    5) Copy the datadump.sql.gz file to the new server.

    6) Stop Tomcat on the new server.

    7) Drop and re-create the AdvertPRO database on the new server with these commands:

echo "DROP DATABASE advertpro;" | mysql -u root -p<br />echo "CREATE DATABASE advertpro;" | mysql -u root -p

    8) Then import the data you exported from the old server into the empty database on the new server:

    gunzip < datadump.sql.gz | mysql -u root -D advertpro

    9) Start Tomcat on the new server.

    10) Verify it works by accessing AdvertPRO on the new server using the IP address, i.e. http://123.123.123.123/advertpro/

    11) Update the DNS for the domain AdvertPRO is running on to the IP address of the new server. You may also change the TTL back to the original value at this time too. However, you may wish to wait 48 hours to do that to make sure there are no problems with the new server so you can rollback to the old one quickly if needed.
