Third Party ads in email zone

Asked by: dacarr 886 views Third Party Ads

We have a client that supplied us with a Mediaplex “Standard Banner” ad tag. It is

(I also added %%CLICKLINK%% to the anchor when I set it up as a new media)

The ad displays correctly in AdvertPro’s preview page, but does not display in the email newsletter.

Any idea what is happening?

The e-mail zone code is only capable of displaying images in GIF/JPG/PNG formats. It will scan your zone for 1) graphic banner media and 2) flash banner media with alternate graphics. It ignores any Applet, Flash, or HTML banners because those can’t be displayed with an tag. The third-party ad you have here is an image, but it doesn’t attempt to check that since it’s HTML.

To fix this, you should delete the media. Create a new media and select graphic banner for the type. Extract the URL from the tag for the Image URL and the URL from the tag for the Redirect URL. Do not prefix the redirect with %%CLICKLINK%%

By the way, you only need to use %%CLICKLINK%% when your HTML media contains or tags.
