National ads to eat up pageviews

I thought I had this figured out, but probably need some guidance.

We have contracted with some national ad companies to “eat up” some additional pageviews that haven’t been sold in some of our zones. The way I have it set up is for the campaign for National Ad Company A to be the default campaign in a zone. The rest of the local ads that are running campaigns in that zone all have pageview limits set to evenly distribute throughout the life of the campaign.

Now, our ad manager wants to include National Ad Company B to do pretty much the same thing Company A is doing. However, the chain of command is to go as follows:

Local Ads –> National Ad Company B –> National Ad Company A

So, if I switch the default campaigns to National Ad Company B, how can I set up Company A to be the second go-to once the local ads’ pageview limits are reached? Would this be done with the chain?

Also, we have been told to use a cachebuster in place of a [timestamp] in the ad code for Company B. Is there a set type to use for AdvertPro?

I hope this makes sense. I just want to make sure I’ve got the logic correct for this.

Pageview limit not met

Alright, so we had a campaign that wanted 50,000 pageviews over the course of 7 days. I set it up as I always do, with the pageview limit of 50,000 to be evenly distributed throughout the life of the campaign.

At the end of the campaign, the ad only received 21,925 pageviews. It was running in a zone with five other campaigns and the zone recorded 97,517 pageviews in that seven days.

Is there a limit as to how much of the total pageviews the ad will take if you have a pageview limit set? I don’t recall ever having this problem before, though the zone did under perform during this particular campaign due to a decline in visits.

What would be the best way to ensure an ad will hit its mark in a short period of time, even if the zone it is running in has multiple campaigns?

Possibility to set campaigns on hold from the campaign list

It would be nice to have possibility to set campaigns on hold from within the campaign list. To day you can do this from edit zone => campaign view. But if you have a campaign assigned to several zones you got quite a big job to do.

keeping track of reservations

Hi,

I hope I can make clear what I’m hoping to be able to do.

I’m wondering if there is an effective way to keep track of currently running ads along with future campaigns and reservations. I help manage our magazine’s website and we have 5 or 6 active zones (with only 3 or 4 in regular use, the rest running house ads) and I never have an easy answer when an advertiser asks about space availability. I have to plow through campaign listings, noting start dates and impressions, etc. It would be great if there was an app or program I could customize to ‘look’ like our web page, showing me what is currently running and what is reserved in future to run, etc.

If such an app/program doesn’t exist, does anyone have suggestions for how best to do this? I suppose I could just design a graphic that simulates our web site with the zones in place,where i could then type in what’s running and what’s upcoming, etc

Send search string to third party code

An advertiser wants us to send the search string to his third party code. Do you have a smooth solution for that? Is it possible to use the custom parameters for example? And just add %%CUSTOM1%% to a parameter in the third party code?

Default ads for zones

My advertising reps would like to know if it is possible to insert HTML or Flash ads as “default” campaigns for certain zones. As it works now, each zone has a default ad that appears wherever that zone exists if there are no sold ads running. However, only image files work. We can’t use any other media type.

What we would like to do is have “default” campaigns setup to fill these spots when the existing ad hits its maximum pageview or time limit and becomes disabled. I have not been able to figure out how to do this without having the “default” campaign run in conjunction with any other campaigns in the zone.

Is there any way this is possible?

Actually i have google analytics and woopra and i dont find the way to track those links i would like to know if u can provide me a solution for that. So now I’m trying to figure out out where the %%CLICKTAG%% and %%CLICKLINK%% placeholders should go. I put them where I thought they needed to go, but it looks like Advert Pro still isn’t tracking clicks … so I’m sure I’ve got them in the wrong place.
